Situated in the old town of Salobrena in Calle Al-Salam (meaning 'street of peace') we are on the first floor of a small privately owned building and our neighbours are all Spanish residents. Access to the building is by key only and we have an intercom with door release just inside the front door. Inside has been completely re-modelled and re-furbished - there is an open plan kitchen with stainless steel appliances and bi-folding terrace doors lead to a little balcony with table and chairs for al-fresco dining ! A large free standing breakfast bar has a full size fridge and freezer underneath and there are 2 built in microwaves, a gas hob and oven plus automatic washing machine. And of course we have all the usual utensils and crockery.
The apartment is built on the natural rock of Salobrena and this forms a striking backdrop in the lounge. There is a huge leather corner sofa with cushions, a large coffee table and storage chest plus variable 'mood' lighting and a ceiling fan for your comfort. There is also a large TV with English and some Sky channels, a DVD player, CD & radio. And dont worry if you forget your holiday read - we have a growing selection of English books along with several DVD's for your enjoyment.
The Bathroom is really quite posh - fully tiled in marble and natural travertine with a walk-in shower, wall mounted toilet, twin large handbasins and a huge mirror plus extractor fan and socket points.
The double Bedroom has a wrought iron bed and side tables and wall lamps aswell as a ceiling fan and a large wardrobe with mirror and plenty of hangers. Double doors with shutters lead out onto the balcony - you can even 'see the sea' in the distance without getting out of bed !
The twin Bedroom has two single beds, a wardrobe and pretty glass wall lamps.
Outside around 20 paces away there are parking spaces and a gated entrance takes you up some steps to the elevated swimming pool where there are panoramic views of the surrounding green fields and the sea and mountains. Very private with key access only, the pool is shared by just a few residents and is shallow at one end, sloping down deeper at the other. There is also a seating area, shower and toilet. And if you sit on the wall at the end of the street during the summer months you may catch an outdooor show for free - there is an amphitheatre in the new town below !
